When people are newly diagnosed (newbies) or have questions about living with Herpes or HPV, they need a trusted
source of accurate information. It's very important that if you're going to seek information on the internet that you
know where to find trusted and reliable organizations.
Antopia's MPwH.net is the largest and most active Herpes and HPV community on the internet. MPwH has been providing
supportive, informational, dating and social networking resources to people living with Herpes and HPV since 1997. We
work hard to ensure that MPwH is a constructive and supportive place, whether it's for people who have known about
their condition for years, or for people who might have been recently diagnosed. Many people find MPwH after a diagnosis
or break-up, and by focusing on social factors and community, we give them a place to recharge. MPwH members can get
supportive information, post on message boards, instant message and chat with other members in a safe and welcoming
community. MPwH is very closely managed by a consistent and known Admin Team. Our members know who to go to for
assistance, and they also understand that MPwH is a supportive community, and things that strangers can get away
with on sites where there is very little self-accountability, well, those things just won't be allowed on MPwH. The
Admin Team rigorously enforces rules of appropriate conduct.
MPwH is designed for individual interactions, such as meeting people to date or finding a supportive friend, and
many members enjoy socializing in our online community. There are two different ways for someone to meet groups of
people with Herpes and/or HPV offline: Support groups and Social groups.
Support Groups
Support groups are nurturing and provide medical information, as well as emotional support. While the following
local groups are not affiliated with MPwH, we do realize that many people can benefit by knowing where to find
support groups and so, MPwH is please to let you know about what we feel are the most reputable support groups
available worldwide. The American Social Health Association (ASHA) has been educating people about sexually
transmitted diseases and infections since 1914. As part of their efforts they help to coordinate a network of local
support groups. Please visit the ASHASTD.org site for more information.
Social Groups
MPwH is pleased to promote local social events via our "Members Only" message boards. We offer this as a community
service to our members who choose to participate in social group events. On the MPwH message boards you will find
event listings for social events including brunches, dinner parties, bowling nights, bar hopping, and multiple day
gatherings at hotels. Please note that unless specifically advertised as "child friendly," children should not be
brought to these events, as events may involve the use of alcohol and may be adult-oriented. Also, some social events
may be restricted to participants with Herpes and/or HPV. It's important to make sure that you know all details
before you attend an event.
MPwH assumes no liability for any social group events, does not endorse these events,
does not have any personal knowledge about event coordinators, and has no control over what takes place at any event.
Also, MPwH privacy policies do not apply to any information you give to event organizers, so as with all interactions
with people you meet on the Internet, you should be careful about the information you choose to disclose.
