I have been reading some of the responses and some mention that the CDC does not suggest blood test for herpes. I went to get tested for chlamydia because my boyfriend tested positive for it. My doctor ordered a Herpes blood test along with it. I have never experienced any breakouts. Never did the swab test. And now my doctors says i am positive for both HSV1 and HSV2. So my question is, Am I asymptomatic? Could my now, ex boyfriend have it? And how could I have not known I had this?? And why did my (urgent care) doctor order a blood test if i never complained about it and the CDC does not recommend it to be done?
